Bro. Ray Roberts – Scout Master

BE PREPARED

Welcome to Newman Boy Scout Troop 1861 established at Newman Church in 2002. Boy Scout Troop 1861 is the only active troop in the city of Pontiac for boys 11-18 years old.  We invite you to join us on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m. here at Newman Church where we prepare to build tomorrow’s leaders.  Our troop is actively learning about their environment, their community, being a good citizen, etc…  We aim to promote good morals and strong character so that our boys are ready to serve and make wise choices in today’s society.

Our troop participates in 3 major campouts annually, educational field trips, Pontiac Christmas Parade, collecting food goods for the Gleaner Food Bank and other fun activities.

The eagle rank is the highest level of achievement a scout can obtain before his 18th birthday. In order to do so, a scout MUST complete a minimum of 21 merits badges approved by Boy Scout of America Board.

For additional information, please contact the Scout Master, Brother Ray Roberts at (248)826-9860 or Newman Church.
