Newman AME Church's Local Lay Organization Mission Statement

To foster throughout the congregation at Newman African Methodist Episcopal Church a systematic and regular study of the Holy Bible, the Doctrine and Discipline of the AME Church, as well as parliamentarian procedures.

 

Objectives and Overview

This mission will be accomplished by implementing the following objectives:

• Continual training and workshops on the Bible, the Discipline, parliamentarian procedures, and educational support

• Providing activities that will result in a harmonious fellowship among other organizations throughout Newman AME Church

• Providing promotional dialogue to the congregation after Sunday services

• Recruiting Stewards, Trustees, and other officers to membership of the Laity

• Helping the youth of Newman AME Church through educational support at the secondary level

• Supporting the Michigan Conference Lay Organization, Fourth District Lay Organization, as well as the Connectional Lay Organization of the African Methodist Episcopal Church
