Lay Organization

 Meets every 1st Saturday of the month at 1:00pm

Each meeting includes a workshop to teach the doctrine and discipline of the African Methodist Episcopal Church along with stressing the importance of regular Bible Study.    

November’s workshop will be Part 2 of 

 The Scriptural Basis of the Apostle’s Creed

 Facilitated by our Directory of Lay Activities, Rosalind Cox. 

Newman AME Church’s Local Lay Organization Mission Statement:

To foster throughout the congregation at Newman African Methodist Episcopal Church, a systematic and regular study of the Holy Bible, the Doctrine and Discipline of the A.M.E. Church, as well as parliamentarian procedures.
Objectives and Overview

This mission will be accomplished by implementing the following objectives:

Continual training and workshops on the bible, the discipline, parliamentarian procedures, and educational support.

Provide activities that will result in a harmonious fellowship among other organizations throughout Newman A.M.E. Church

Provide promotional dialogue to the congregation after Sunday Services.

Recruiting Stewards, Trustees, and other Officers to membership of the Laity

To help the youth of Newman A.M.E. Church through educational support at the secondary level.

Support the Michigan Conference Lay Organization, 4th District Lay Organization, as well as the Connectional Lay of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Lay Organization’s Annual Day will be celebrated on Sunday November 10th.

The meetings and workshops are open to all.  Please feel free to come out and join us the 1st Saturday of the month at 1:00pm and learn about the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
